Who Are Our Volunteers?
The Jed Child Trust Foundation volunteers are a group of passionate people who perform hours of service for charitable and humanitarian reasons. These volunteers are assigned to different developmental, charitable, and humanitarian fields of operations in Africa. Jed Volunteers are individuals of different studies, caliber, professions, and countries willing to invest in a brighter generation of Africans. Our mission is to improve the quality of education of African children in rural and suburban areas by promoting and providing them with a high-quality education through our programs. Our volunteers assist us in accomplishing these goals by bringing passion and enthusiasm, spreading the word, expanding the donor network, breaking the ice, identifying platforms, walking the walk, and contributing to other activities as needed.
The Jed Volunteers have made significant contributions to communities by volunteering their time, resources, and efforts. They initiate a series of positive events that transform the lives of young children who have given up hope for education. One of the best-known impacts of Jed Volunteers is evident in the testimonies of families, communities, and schools that have benefited from our work.
Why Do We Need Volunteers?
It is a fact that volunteers play an important role. It’s also key to note that we need the support, assistance, and contributions of volunteers to drive the desired change. However, volunteering for Jed Child Trust Foundation also provides social and personal benefits such as: providing one with a sense of purpose; helping one meet new friends; increasing one's social skills; helping improve self-esteem; teaching one valuable skills; providing job prospects; bringing fun into one’s life; can help one be happier; and also helps one to hone one's skills.
What Are Our Volunteer Teams?
The Jed Child Trust Foundation volunteers function in different capacities, from being part of the management to being a member of the outreach team or initiating a local outreach group in your location if it’s in Africa. From assisting and setting up fundraising in collaboration with the organization, to helping reach out to local communities that would receive these funds.
Thus, who can volunteer? Any passionate person, graduate or undergraduate, professional, individuals on sabbatical, individuals seeking to make the world a better place, individuals seeking to find meaning, individuals who need a break from their current engagement, individuals who want to reflect on their lives. We make special arrangements to accommodate non-African volunteers who wish to take part in the on-field volunteerism. Therefore, anyone can volunteer with Jed in different ways: remotely, on-site, or even online. Consequently, we need your assistance, we need your skills, and we want you to write your name on the hands of time through your volunteerism. Posterity will surely reward you.
“Life’s most persistent question is, "What are you doing for others?"
